Relauch of Home Safety Service

Next week we will be relaunching our updated Home Safety service. Through charitable funding we have managed to purchase some security and safety products to fit as part of the service including 5 lever door locks, peep holes, door bars, CO detectors and timer switches. For the free safety check (available to people over 65 years of age or those who are disabled) please call us on 01307 463232.

Dementia Enablement Project

hi_big_e_lrg_pink LCT logo2 Angus Care and Repair has been commisioned by the Life Changes Trust to help people living with dementia make their homes safer and more suitable to their needs.

Our deicated officers are approved to carry out a home check to see if there are any works that can be done straightaway to make your home safer for you. They can then speak to you about how Care and Repair can help you to make changes around yoir home to suit your needs when necessary.

The service is open to anyone living with Dementia, being assessed for or think that they may have dementia.

Are you sockets overloaded ?

“The Electrical Safety Council has provided this interactive socket overload calculator.

They created the calculator following concerns raised by Fire & Rescue Services about the risks associated with householders overloading their electrical sockets.  They have tested the calculator with a number of FRS and the response from them has been fantastic.  Feedback included: “It looks good and will be really useful for sharing with people – we’ve found it an incredibly hard issue to explain to people in words alone. ”

Fire Safety

You are more than twice as likely to die in a fire at home if you haven’t got a working smoke alarm. A smoke alarm is the easiest way to alert you to the danger of fire, giving you time to escape. They are cheap, easy to get hold of and easy to fit.
